Travel without rushing, stop for a view, a tasting or a good restaurant, continue as the mood takes you… and return each evening to L’Adresse du Bassin.

Day 1 — From the Bay to the ocean

Gujan-Mestras, Dune du Pilat and the beach road.

Begin with Gujan-Mestras’s oyster harbours and an oyster tasting at Chez Bidart in Port de Meyran Ouest. Then head towards the Dune du Pilat and stop at La Co(o)rniche, at the foot of the Dune, as much for the setting as for the view over the entrance to the Bay.

Continue between pines and ocean towards Biscarrosse-Plage. Here, the road itself is part of the journey: the pleasure lies as much in the route as in the stops you choose.

In the evening, return to L’Adresse du Bassin.

Day 2 — Explore the other shore

Cap Ferret, L’Herbe and the Dune in view.

The next day, head towards Cap Ferret, wander through the village of L’Herbe and stop at an oyster hut for a few oysters. Then continue your day on the peninsula.

Why not stop at Chez Hortense, an iconic address facing the Dune du Pilat across the Bay? A longer day, made for a stay of several nights.

Then return once more to your Suite or Cottage at L’Adresse du Bassin.

After a few days beside the water, continue towards the Bordeaux vineyards. Follow a wine route, discover a château, share a tasting and find another landscape, another way to take your time.

The Bay, oysters, good restaurants… then the vineyards. The same desire: to savour the journey as much as the destination.

L’Adresse du Bassin becomes a destination in its own right on a wider itinerary: a few days in Gujan-Mestras to experience the Bay before perhaps continuing towards the Bordeaux vineyards.
